~CC Travels A Lot: De Vere Wotton House~

What's up guys and gals?! Today we have another installment of "CC Travels A Lot," and this time I'll be telling you all about the De Vere Wotton House.

About De Vere Wotton House

The De Vere Wotton house is an imposing yet welcoming country house mansion, nestled in the Surrey Hills town of Dorking. It has 12 or so acres of magnificent Grade II listed gardens which include grottos, roman temples and a secret garden with koi pond, all of which have recently undergone a massive refurbishment. If I could pick two words to describe this place, they'd be "blogger's paradise." There are SO many beautiful public spaces and event spaces, including an old library with vaulted ceilings that has been turned into an event room (they were setting up for a wedding when I arrived and it looked absoluetly stunning.) I could probably go back there three more times and still not repeat a scene in the photos as there are so many fabulous views.

Dining

(The "1877 Restaurant")

I had a number of meals in the bar and the "1877 Restaurant". The restaurant is another beautifully instagrammable place. A tufted circular banqet is the centerpiece of this lovely space. Try the "Whiskey and Honey Brisket" and treat yourself to the Chocolate Orange Pavlova for pudding. The bar is arranged in two sections with a stunning long bar and seating on one side and a sunny Day Room on the other side.

Accomodations

We stayed in a Deluxe room with 2 double beds. The decor was sophisticated, chic and understated. Modern colors and cool tones with beautiful natural light were enhanced with tasteful pictures and accents. One of my favorite things about the rooms is that they felt so fresh, light and spacious. The bathrooms were elegant and everything was exceptionally clean. A huge perk of this place was the room service - I LOVE room service. It's one of those things that makes me feel pampered and the Wotton House room service did not disappoint. My recommendation - try the British Beef Burger with blue cheese and red onion marmalade with hand cut chips. Delish!
